Summary |
[Homo sapiens] KHSRP directly interacts with AU-rich elements in the 3' UTR of IFN mRNA to negatively regulate the transcript levels. Khsrp deficient mouse embryonic fibroblast produced higher levels of Ifna4 and Ifnb mRNAs in response to viral infections as a result of decreased mRNA decay.
[Mus musculus] Khsrp directly interacts with AU-rich elements in the 3' UTR of Ifn mRNA to negatively regulate the transcript levels. Khsrp deficient mouse embryonic fibroblast produced higher levels of Ifna4 and Ifnb mRNAs in response to viral infections as a result of decreased mRNA decay.

Summary |
This gene does not have any Entrez summary - the following is the summary from its human ortholog ENSG00000088247:
The KHSRP gene encodes a multifunctional RNA-binding protein implicated in a variety of cellular processes, including transcription, alternative pre-mRNA splicing, and mRNA localization (Min et al., 1997 [PubMed 9136930]; Gherzi et al., 2004 [PubMed 15175153]).[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2010] |
